In the heart of the statues hall of the Musée Granet, Julia Lema Barros gives sound form to the statues voices, encouraging the audience to meditate on the sensations and lost memory of the sculptures. The sound piece is like a somnambulistic walk; sounds and words let us feel the sculptures breathe, their skin, their smell. Mylène Duc offers a poetic text that questions the strangeness of the sculpted presence.
They free the colossi from their dramatic fate: silence and immobility.

The “Echos Passés" sound installation is a two parts piece, creating an immersive experience between the garden of statues at the Monument à Joseph Sec and the sculpture hall of the Musée Granet in Aix-en-Provence. This delicate and poetic work explores the themes of sculpture, memory and the presence of the past, highlighting the duality between the sculpted object and the frozen human presence.
